Veteran-owned-and-operated small business sponsors key event at annual Fleet Week celebration
Rockville, MD (May 24, 2017) — BlueStar HonorCare, a Service-Disabled Veteran-owned small business, announced today that it is a supporter of this year’s Fleet Week, an annual New York City week-long celebration of our nation’s maritime service. Rear Admiral Robert O. Wray, Jr. (ret.), BlueStar’s founder and CEO, is representing BlueStar at this year’s festivities.
As the only veteran-owned and operated medical alert device in the personal emergency response systems industry, BlueStar HonorCare is one of several sponsors of the Wasabi Rabbit Warrior Recognition & Appreciation Reception, set to be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at Pier 86, West 46th & 12th Ave in New York City.
Wasabi Rabbit’s CEO, John Mustin, is a reserve Navy Admiral and a longtime friend of Admiral Wray. Admiral Mustin and Admiral Wray served together in the Navy. This year marks the 11th annual Fleet Week event that Wasabi Rabbit has hosted.
“BlueStar HonorCare is incredibly proud to be a partner sponsor at the 29th annual Fleet Week in New York City,” said Rear Admiral Robert O. Wray, Jr. (ret.). “Fleet Week is a unique opportunity for both civilians and service men and women to join one another for a series of celebratory events to pay tribute to our sea services. We must also remember that Fleet Week falls during one of America’s most solemn weekends – Memorial Day. As we celebrate Fleet Week, we will honor and remember our loved and lost – all of whom that gave the last full measure of devotion to a grateful nation while serving in uniform,” said Wray.
Fleet Week kicks off on Wednesday, May 24, with the Parade of Ships, followed by a series of ship tours, drill team performances, Navy Band concerts, A Freedom Run, a Veterans Appreciation Day & Memorial Tribute, a Coast Guard Search and Rescue demo and much more.
Admiral Wray will be escorting several BlueStar supporters, friends, investors and shareholders on a guided VIP ship tour as well as joining together at a planned reception.
